Delay Game

Dow has at their disposal an army of regulatory lawyers, engineers and scientists. That they go it so wrong so often was by design. Dow’s repeated failure to comply with the law, to submit timely work plans and utilize accepted scientific guidelines is common practice. These maneuvers coupled with their forum shopping for the most politically pliable administrations to do their bidding is legendary, making their contamination a shameful, shameful legacy.

NPR News clip concerning the Dow mediation. In 2007! Dow was consuming a lot of time arguing about what documents need to be kept from the public rather than participating in an ‘open and transparent’ process. And while Dow fiddled, the contamination continued to spread. From Interlochen public radio with comment from EPA Region 5′s John Steketee. (MP3)
