Put a value on nature.

It’s perhaps very telling the value that Dow Chemical holds all of the regional area by how long they have sought to delay, and avoid responsibility for their pollution. If they really valued the ‘human element’, like their PR campaign claims, you would think that they, as a corporation, would also value the environment that the ‘human element’ lives, works, raises children, vacations, and plays in. However Dow sees more value in buying politicians and wonderfully bogus advertisements so that they look like they care about more than their shareholder’s return on their investment.

So, at what time does Dow start realizing the true value of nature, and more importantly the environment that their employees and the people that live near their plants are forced to live in just because of their avoidance to operate ethically and respectfully of nature.

As corporations demand ‘personhood’, we must force the corporations to recognize that although our local environment might not be of much concern to their shareholders, it is of much greater intrinsic value to US, the people that live and work there. If they really want personhood then they should hold to ALL laws that real flesh and blood persons have to. I mean, to cross species, even a dog doesn’t poop in their own bed. Dow shareholders make more money if Dow devalues nature and threatens jobs over being held accountable for their pollution. Harming the environment also harms their shareholders and all of us.

Put a value on nature. It shouldn’t be negative…

It is horrifying that we have to fight our own government to save the environment.
– Ansel Adams

The lack of perceived value of our precious environment is depressing.

Our struggles with the EPA are about to get worse thanks to ruthless political idealism.

Dioxin – A Serious Public Heath Risk

“Dioxin – A Serious Public Health Risk”

Stephen Lester, Science Director
Center for Health, Environment & Justice

Many industry advocates have argued that dioxin is not a threat to public health and that the federal EPA’s proposed cleanup goals – interim preliminary remediation goals (PRGs) – for dioxin in soil are trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. I could not disagree more. These industry advocates conveniently ignore the scientific facts about the toxicity of dioxin. Read more »
